According to a foreign news agency, the French company has developed an artificial heart after several experiments which will be offered for sale this year. The Essen artificial heart weighs 900 grams and runs on batteries and will last a long time.
The Carmat Company which works on heart disease in other countries including France says that 26 million people die of heart disease every year.
The number of organ donors in Europe is very small, but an artificial heart will be somewhat helpful in filling this gap.
The CEO of Carmat said the manufacture of artificial hearts had been on the rise for the past three decades. Claims were made several times but in a few crucial hours the patient's work was completed by the implantation of the artificial heart. No heart could be fixed for long.
He said The modern artificial heart is a ray of hope for those who are waiting for a heart to be donated.
