Twitter posts its first ever edit tweet for user

The first edited tweet is posted by social networking website Twitter. The tweet shows what the post will look like once the feature is introduced.

The social media company posted a tweet Thursday with the 'last edited' time and date at the bottom of the post.

The feature will first be available to Twitter Blue users after the edit button is introduced.

According to the company, with the help of this feature, one will be able to edit the tweet within 30 minutes of tweeting. Edited tweets will be timed and indicate that the original post was changed.

Twitter says this label is necessary because post history will help protect the integrity of the conversation. People will have access to the record to see what was said in the tweet.
