Previously, foreign travelers arriving in Taiwan were required to stay in hotels While locals were allowed to stay in isolation for at least three days and then leave if the test was negative.
The spokesperson of the Cabinet said that the economy of Taiwan was severely damaged due to Corona. The government is taking steps to remedy this, under which the ban on quarantine was also lifted. This will generate revenue for the country's exchequer.
He said that due to the quarantine, tourists and foreign travelers used to shy away from coming to Taiwan because the quarantine expenses in the hotel were a bit high.
Lu Ping cheng said that from next Tuesday, there will be visa-free entry for those coming from all countries. We hope that this initiative will bring 60,000 tourists every week.
He further said that passengers will have to show a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) report on arrival in Taiwan.
Last week, Taiwan announced visa-free entry for other countries including the US and Canada. After the positive results, now its scope has been extended to all countries.
