Transparency International, an international anti-corruption organization has released the Global Corruption Perceptions Index, which shows that corruption in Pakistan has increased.
According to Transparency International, corruption in Pakistan increased by four levels last year, the Pakistan Corruption Perceptions Index was 120 in 2019 and 124 in 2020.
According to this survey, the best score is 100 points while the lowest score is zero. Zero indicates a highly corrupt country or sector.
According to the chairman of Transparency International, corruption increased despite the claims of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) that in two years the NAB recovered Rs 365 billion from corruption.
In terms of corruption Pakistan's score is 31 and last year it was 32. In 2018 Pakistan's number was 33 and in 2017 it was 32. The highest level of corruption in Pakistan was in 2012 when the score reached 27.
According to the report India ranks 80th in terms of corruption. The lowest levels of corruption are in New Zealand and Denmark at 88.
Corruption has increased in the United States, from 69 last year to 67 in this year's report. The highest levels of corruption are in Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria, South and Sudan.
The report says that corruption in various countries of the world is the biggest obstacle in the way of measures to deal with the Covarna epidemic. Continuous corruption is damaging the health system and pushing back the democratic system.
