Terrorist arrested for plotting to attack Islamabad Stock Exchange

ISLAMABAD: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested three terrorists involved in bomb blasts in Rawalpindi.

The CTD claimed that the terrorists had planned to attack the Islamabad Stock Exchange. Explosives and weapons have been recovered from the arrested alleged terrorists.

The alleged terrorists have been arrested from Adiala Road on a tip-off. The alleged terrorists have confessed to killing 4 civilians and injuring more than 30.

The investigation revealed that the accused were planning to attack the stock exchange soon and modern weapons were also recovered from their possession.

The alleged terrorists were in contact with a foreign terrorist organization and a map of the stock exchange and other important materials were recovered from their possession.

A spokesman for the CTD said the alleged terrorists had been transferred to an unknown location for further investigation. It may be recalled that in June 2020, an explosion took place in Saddar area of ​​Rawalpindi in which one person was killed.

In March 2020, a cracker exploded in a Scrap market within the confines of Rawalpindi's President Cantt police station, injuring five people.
